Depicted is an updated national hospital referral region analysis, presenting the positive association between Medicare Parts A & B spending to care intensity constructed from hospital care intensity indexes aggregated from using a decedent cohort over the last two years of life. These data are constructed using a 100% sample of Medicare beneficiaries during calendar year 2014 (Dartmouth Atlas Project, 2014)
