“They don’t care. You get that feeling quite often. It just kind of supports that hopeless kind of feeling that life isn’t worth living and nobody cares about anything.” Such encounters did little to alleviate hopelessness, and six participants noted that they increased their anxiety or aggravated their dysphoria [40].
